How much does it cost for a complete kitchen renovation?
The cost of a kitchen renovation will depend on several different factors. The size of the kitchen, the quality of the units and appliances chosen and the complexity of the installation. If a large amount of remodelling is needed and you want to invest in a quality kitchen and appliances that will last the years, then the price will be greater than for a basic replacement of what is already in the space. How long does it take to fit a kitchen?
Many average-sized kitchen fittings take around two to four weeks. However, a larger kitchen that requires wall removals, structural changes and reconfiguration of the layout within the kitchen can take longer, probably nearer ten to twelve weeks. Do I need planning permission to have a kitchen extension?
Simply installing a kitchen or bathroom doesn’t generally require planning permission, but if it forms part of an extension then it may well need to be requested. If your property is a listed building, you’ll need to consult the local planning authority as the rules for older buildings are more extensive. Using an established kitchen installation company, such as Bayliss, will mean you don’t have to worry as we take care of all the details including any planning permission or adherence to building regulations for you.
What is a good budget for a new kitchen?
A difficult question to answer as some may prefer to splash out on a top-of-the-range quality kitchen, whereas others may want to save budget for other kitchen features. Generally interior and property designers will advise that a kitchen shouldn’t cost less than 5% and no more than 15% of the total value of your home.
