Modern Master Ensuite

The Project

A returning customer purchased a new property in need of a full refurbishment. Originally built in 1666, the home required extensive updates, with the client needing two new bathrooms and a master ensuite. The master ensuite was the most significant project, spanning 8 metres by 4 metres. The client was drawn to a display in our showroom and wanted to recreate it within their space, with the added luxury of a built-in steam room.

The Challenge

This project had many challenges due to a full house renovation project being undertaken whilst we were on site. Given the property’s age, the floors, walls and ceilings were far from level, requiring us to strip everything back and start from scratch. Also adding to the challenge was a very narrow, winding staircase spanning three floors to reach the loft space where the master bathroom was located. Meticulous organisation and planning were required throughout the job to ensure the project remained on target.

The Solution

To create a stable foundation, we removed the entire floor, including beams from the ceiling below, and stripped the walls back to brick. We then began our design process, ensuring everything was in place for the floor and walls to be rebuilt from new. Our skills were put to the test with no room for error, as the structural foundations would have an impact on the design and product installation to follow. We covered every aspect of this room, from plumbing, electrics, carpentry, building works, tiling and product installation, every element of the project was managed through Bayliss Bathrooms & Kitchens.
