Kitchen-Family Room in Four Oaks

The Project

This kitchen and family living space transformation took place in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, North Birmingham. The client visited our showroom and immediately fell in love with one of our featured kitchen displays, using it as the primary inspiration for their own home. The vision was to create a stylish, multifunctional, open-plan space that combined cooking, dining and entertaining, with a modern and social layout at its heart. Key features included a sleek drinks area, multiple ovens, a large central quartz island and a Bora hob—identical to the one showcased in our showroom.

The Challenge

The project required us to reimagine a dated and disjointed kitchen area into a seamless, open-plan hub of the home. The original layout lacked flow and functionality, and significant structural work was needed to open up the space. We also had to coordinate around ongoing renovation work elsewhere in the home, which meant tight timelines and careful site management to keep everything on track. Lighting and ventilation had to be reconsidered as the new design brought a much larger and more open environment into play.

The Solution

We worked closely with the client to tailor the showroom-inspired design to their specific space and lifestyle needs. Structural alterations were carried out to open up the room, followed by a full redesign, including new flooring, electrics and custom cabinetry. The quartz island became the focal point, offering both function and elegance, while the Bora hob provided a clean, modern cooking solution with built-in extraction. The bar area was custom-built to create a seamless transition between the kitchen and living zones. Every element—from layout to final fit—was delivered through our fully managed service at Bayliss Bathrooms and Kitchens, ensuring a flawless result from start to finish.
