Family Bathroom in Little Aston

The Project

This was a returning client with a five-bed detached house, and this was the third room we had transformed for the family. The customers wanted the main family bathroom renovated to remain practical, owing to it being a family bathroom, whilst still being stylish and contemporary. Fortunately, as the family had access to other bathroom facilities, there was no need for them to move out during the project.

The Challenge

This project was slightly more difficult as it had a concrete floor, and the clients wanted to install a wet room. Prior to our team arriving, the room had been extended by their own builder, and after our survey, during the design process, it was discovered that the builder hadn’t put the plumbing in the right places. To enable the client to meet their design expectations, we had to cut out the concrete screed and install new drainage in the correct location, leading to more cost and work involved to create the desired look. The client wanted large-format tiles, which meant they were heavier than most and required additional care when manoeuvring.

The Solution

To enable the client to meet their design expectations, we had to cut out the concrete screed and install new drainage in the correct location, leading to greater cost and work to achieve the finished room the clients wanted, as we hadn’t managed the project from the start. The large format porcelain tiles, which the client required for the floor and walls, were installed with the relevant additional care and labour needed. The 60×60 tiling created a sleek, continuous look, and the ‘His and Hers’ porcelain, wall-hung sink along the dual entry shower, wet room, were key features for this large family bathroom.
