Our Story
The History of Bayliss
Since our founding in 1929, we have grown into an industry-leading brand, trusted by homeowners across the Midlands and beyond. As one of Sutton Coldfield’s longest-standing and most-established businesses, we’re proud to celebrate our rich heritage as we approach 100 years of service. Explore our story from the very beginning!
The family business was established as Bayliss Limited in Sutton Coldfield, as a plumbing merchant, specialising in plumbing, heating, building and bathroom equipment.
The business was sold by the founder’s great-grandchildren and underwent a rebranding and refurbishment, which included the redevelopment of the showroom’s front, now boasting a stunning glass frontage. The company was incorporated, and its name was changed to Bayliss & Co.
The current owners bought the company. Anthony’s bathroom installation company had worked for Bayliss for several years, so he jumped at the chance to take on the company as a place to showcase products and installations to customers, joining the supply and installation chain. Anthony’s vision was to take Bayliss to the next level, introducing a full in-house project-managed service, offering complete turnkey solutions under the Bayliss brand.
The Bayliss showroom has now become one of the leading independent bathroom and kitchen showrooms in the Midlands, offering a unique, tailored service for each client. Having expanded to offer an impressive kitchen range, the company is going from strength to strength, and the team at Bayliss is excited to see what the future holds.
